Financial Peace University

Wednesdays, July 16 through October 8, 2008

7:00 - 9:00 p.m.

 Financial Peace University is a life-changing 13-week program on personal finance.  It is designed to empower people to manage their money better, eliminate debt and build wealth.  All material is biblically based and taught via entertaining video by the creator of the program, Dave Ramsey.  Small group discussion is also included in the class.   Pre-registration is necessary and continues through Wednesday, July 23rd at the Event Counter.  Purchase of a Member Kit is required, at a cost of $99.50 (payable by cash, check or debit ONLY).  You may also pre-register online at www.daveramsey.com.

INTERPRETING THE BIBLE*

Class Preparation:  Prior to the first class: Read Ch. 1-4 in the book of Genesis & Ch. 1-2 in Let There Be Light

 

Charles Fillmore strongly believed that each of us has the ability to

interpret the Bible on our own.  Students will learn to interpret the Bible and it’s symbols and stories metaphysically and will gain an

understanding of the Bible as a practical tool for personal growth and development.

PRACTICAL PATHWAYS TO POWER, PASSION AND PROSPERITY

This class is designed to give students at least one effective

self-improvement tool each week through the application of

experiential exercises.  Attendees can expect to clarify their goals and acquire fresh perspectives on old challenges.  Maximum benefit can be gained by attending all 10 sessions; however, students may join this series at any time.

 

STUDYING THE POWER OF INTENTION

Instructor: Hiram W. Squires (“Sparkie”)

Wednesdays: 7/2 to 7/30 (5 weeks) • 1:30 - 3:30 p.m.

Recommended Reading: The Power of Intention: Learning to Co-Create Your World Your Way by Wayne Dyer

 

Participants will view a series of videotaped talks by Wayne Dyer on “The Power of Intention.”  Explore intention as an all-pervading force in the universe that allows the art of creation to take place. There will be an opportunity for lively discussion as directed by the interests of students in relation to the talk topic.

 

ANGER MANAGEMENT

Instructor: Sally Walsh

Tuesdays: 6/10 to 7/15 (6 weeks) • 7:00 - 9:00 p.m.

Required Text: Anger Management Workbook ($10 materials fee will be collected at first class session)

 

This course is designed to help you recognize your own anger and that of others.  It will help you discover where your anger comes from, how it is expressed, and how you can gain control over it.  Learn to choose which anger management techniques work best for you.

 

ACTING WORKSHOP

Instructor: Jennifer George

Saturday: 7/26 or 8/23 (1 week) • 12:00 - 3:00 p.m.

Class Preparation: Wear comfortable clothes and shoes that allow for freedom of movement.

 

Students will dive right in with warm ups, improvisational exercises and some vocal and physical exercises.  We will also work with texts for monologue and scene studies; these will be brief and will not

require memorization.

 

BELIEVE IN YOURSELF, TRUST IN GOD

Instructor: Marlene Green

Mondays: 7/14 to 8/18 (6 weeks) • 7:00 - 9:00 p.m.

Gain an understanding of the power of your thoughts and mind to change your current reality and, as a result, learn to accept

responsibility for your decisions.  Focus will be on healing worthiness issues, building trust within and trusting in God to bring desired change into fruition.

 

 

KEYS TO THE KINGDOM

Instructor: Ron Scott

Thursdays: 6/19 to 7/31 (7 weeks) • 7:00 - 9:00 p.m.

REMOVING THE LABELS THAT BIND

Wednesdays: 6/11 to 7/16 (6 weeks) • Noon - 1:00 p.m.

 

This class is designed to help participants recognize how labels are

limiting us, to discover the truth of who we are, and to rebuild our

identity through realization of our higher selves.  This class includes a powerful future-self visualization exercise in week four.

 

 

THE ART OF DELIBERATE CREATION

principles/material, as well as the instructor’s guidance for practical application and class discussion.

SANSKRIT CHANTING

Experience the bliss of chanting the ancient language of Sanskrit. Chant for protection, health and inner peace. 

KUNDALINI YOGA - THIS CLASS IS TAKING THE SUMMER OFF - CLASS WILL RESUME ON AUGUST 20TH

Instructor: Yvette Cobb

Wednesdays: On-going  · Beginning on August 20th,  1:30 – 3:00 p.m.

Class Preparation: Wear loose, comfortable clothing.  Bring a mat or towel and a sheet. 

Students will use exercise, sound current, breath and meditation to experience a vigorous yoga workout. Students will awaken the Kundalini energy stored at the base of the spine, clear and calm the mind and become more flexible.

HATHA YOGA

Learn techniques of stretching, relaxation, concentration, meditation, breathing and movement. This is an on-going class that students may join at any time.
