This Sunday, July 30th, we honor and celebrate the Divine Nine, an extraordinary coalition of nine historically African American Greek-lettered fraternities and sororities. Our service will be a tribute to their enduring legacy, an exploration of their profound impact on African American culture, and a celebration of their unwavering commitment to the upliftment and advancement of the African American community.

Founded amidst struggle, the Divine Nine have been pillars of resilience and hope, striving for social justice and racial equality. They have fostered an environment that encourages unity while celebrating individuality, strength while cherishing vulnerability, and a collective identity while appreciating diversity. They have inspired generations of African Americans to be trailblazers in every field, to be leaders and dreamers, to be nurturers of hope and harbors of love.

The members of these organizations are connected by more than just letters and colors. They are united in service and upliftment, in brotherhood and sisterhood, in common struggle and shared victory. They are joined by the blood of ancestors who fought for freedom, by the dreams of those who dared to envision a better world, and by the hope of future generations who will carry the torch forward. They symbolize the richness of the African American experience, the resilience of the human spirit, and the power of unity in diversity.

These Divine Nine organizations consist of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc., Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc., Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc., Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc., Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc., and Iota Phi Theta Fraternity, Inc. Each with their own unique histories, cultures, and values, they share a common commitment to academic excellence, leadership development, and community service.
