When I witness an event or exchange I feel is unfair and disrespectful, I pray for the courage to speak up and speak out.
In my response, may I stay away from pin-sharp comments that sting; self-deprecating humor that isn't funny; and passive aggressive retorts.
May I always seek to use my words and the powerful energy inside them in a graceful, measured manner.
May my words be authentic first and chosen carefully next.
May they deliver wisdom, salve, support, and what is most needed.
May we all use our words with respect for the instruments of creation that they are. For this, I pray.
