Holding dear those who are hurting.
We pull up a chair and sit beside them in their time of sadness or crisis.
Words may be few, or not at all, but holding a hand can be powerful, and may be remembered longer than words.
Let us behold each other's pain, not looking away just because it may make us feel uneasy.
But rather, let us be in the moment and trust tender words and actions will come.
It is impossible to place ourselves in their shoes and situation, but when we are present when their hearts are aching or broken, it allows them to feel comforted that they are not alone.
